Tom is a scholar, translator and teller of the tales of ancient Greece. As part of their storytelling company Sword and Oar, Tom focuses on bringing the Greek epic and oral traditions back to life, in intimate live performances and to the accompaniment of improvised music.

Tom is also a proud member of the Montreal Storytellers Guild, with whom they enjoy sharing stories personal and mythical, ancient and modern, and especially those which interrogate the act of storytelling itself, and the uncomfortable space it inhabits between prophecy and deceit.  Under the mentorship of fellow Guild member Rob Cloney, Tom has been exploring the folk tales of their native Scotland for this year’s Festival Interculturel du Conte de Montréal.
